The National Company of the river Rhone (La Compagnie Nationale du Rhône – CNR), from Électrabel-Suez group, has received a global concession from the State to fit out and operate the river Rhône. It is an independent electricity producer who markets its own energy since April, 2001.

The Company manages 19 river dams, 19 hydroelectric power stations and 14 big size locks for an average production of 15 billions KWH.

The CNR owns 64,08 % of the share capital of Lyon Terminal. |

Created in 1994, the French Association of Internal Ports (AFPI) includes the main French internal ports, representing the most important navigation basins of France: the Seine, the Rhine, the Rhone-Saône and the North.

AFPI is the structure of internal ports representation beside the national and international authorities and aims to be a place for information exchange and harbour and logistic engineering expertise.

The AFPI works in order that decision-makers, especially political ones, take the economic importance of the internal ports into account. |
